PRINT CLUB BEGINNERS WORKSHOP
The workshop takes place at our studio in Dalston, Unit 3, Millers Ave, E8 2DS.
Workshops run on Thursdays and Saturday or Sunday throughout the year.
Workshop times: 11-4pm Please arrive at 10:45am for a cup of tea and to get ready to start at 11.
Cost: £50 including VAT (see below) per person
Vouchers for workshops can now be purchased here. Vouchers purchased before 2012 are no longer valid.
If you have little or no previous screen printing experience Print Club runs a short workshop to get you started.
During the workshop you will learn how to screenprint your own design and go through the whole process from digital image to pulling the squeegee. The technicians will talk you through the history of screenprinting and show you a variety of techniques with examples up in our studio. You will be taught how to artwork in Photoshop and get your design ready to put onto your screen. You will have a go at coating a screen with photo emulsion, expose the design using Big Bertha our professional exposure unit, learn about different inks, squeegees and print a small run using a vacuum table. Your design must be A4 black and white, please bring it along on a USB. When designing, we recommend bold images with solid blocks of colour and thick lines. Please don’t bring photographs, as grayscale images need to be turned into half-tone dots. Photographic images and fine line illustration are harder to produce with good results.
Once you have completed a workshop you can become a member at Print Club (as long as there is space available).
