Print Club London has been running screen printing workshops from its Hackney studio since 2007. Every session is hands-on and tutor-led, open to complete beginners and experienced printers alike — you arrive with an idea and leave with a set of hand-pulled prints you made yourself. The studio is at Unit 3, 10–28 Millers Avenue, Dalston E8 2DS, a short walk from Dalston Kingsland and Dalston Junction Overground stations. We run weekly sessions across five formats: the one-day Beginner’s Workshop (£75) needs no prior experience whatsoever, while our two-day Deluxe Digital, Deluxe Handmade and CMYK workshops take your printing to a more advanced level. For groups and companies we also offer private team workshops at the studio or at your venue. All materials, screens, inks and paper are provided — just bring your design and wear something you don’t mind getting ink on (aprons are provided 🙂 .

We had a 2-hour beginner session with Fred, Holly, and Rhian – and it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. They made the workshop extremely engaging and interactive, ensuring that everyone, regardless of skill level, felt involved and confident in trying something new. The team provided clear, step-by-step guidance, while also giving us the freedom to experiment and play with our designs. We came away with some lovely prints, but more importantly, we left with a real sense of accomplishment and pride in having done something both different and creative. It was the perfect introduction to silk-screening, and we can’t wait to do it again!
No experience is needed for the Beginner’s Workshop — it’s designed specifically for people who have never screen printed before. The two-day Deluxe and CMYK workshops do require prior experience, either from completing a Beginner’s Workshop at Print Club or from printing elsewhere. All workshops take place at Print Club London’s Hackney studio: Unit 3, 10–28 Millers Avenue, Dalston, E8 2DS. It’s a short walk from Dalston Kingsland (Overground) and Dalston Junction (Overground), and well connected from across East and Central London.
From the Beginner’s Workshop you leave with a small hand-pulled edition of your own design, printed on quality GF Smith paper. From the two-day Deluxe workshops you take home a two-layer screen-printed edition. CMYK workshop participants leave with a four-colour print. Everything is printed by you, with guidance — not prepared in advance.
For the Beginner’s Workshop, bring your design as a black-and-white A4 image on a USB stick — JPEG, PDF or PSD format, 300dpi. If you don’t have a design ready, arrive with an idea and the tutors will help you work something up. For the Deluxe Digital and CMYK workshops, bring a laptop with Adobe Photoshop installed and your image files prepared in advance. All inks, screens, paper and studio materials are provided.
Sessions are kept deliberately small to ensure everyone gets proper time with a tutor. The studio works best with small groups, and the team’s approach is hands-on throughout the day — not a demonstration you watch, but a process you work through with support alongside you.

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting ink on. Screen printing inks can transfer onto clothing during the day and while they wash out of most fabrics, it’s sensible not to arrive in anything you’d be upset about marking.
Screen printing — also called silk-screen printing or serigraphy — is a printmaking technique in which ink is pushed through a mesh screen onto paper or fabric, with a stencil controlling which areas receive ink. Each colour in a design requires a separate screen and a separate pass. The process is used everywhere from fine art editions and gig posters to commercial textile printing, and it produces a richness and density of colour that’s difficult to replicate digitally.
